– I wanted to include an academic work in these selections because I do take a very analytic approach to much of my tarot studies. In addition to Tantra, the ideas of Bernardo Kastrup have strongly informed my integration of Jungian and Tantric material. Kastrup’s philosophical framework, Analytic Idealism, seems to map almost exactly onto Tantric Shaivism. Therefore, the fact that it also maps very closely onto Jungian psychology helps me to make connections between Jungian psychology and Tantra.

This article goes into great detail on the correspondences between the philosophy of Jung and the philosophy of Analytic Idealism. Jung’s own philosophical structure he never ventures to lay out, other than citing some of his inspirations such as Kant and Goethe. The author describes Jung as a German Idealist and a Romantic, though Jung himself would not lay claim to this. Jung’s psychology really deserves to be treated as a philosophy, because one can benefit from understanding his worldview without every undertaking any analytic therapy or training. This paper argues for a re-enchantment of the world through this Jungian view. This re-enchantment would recenter our human experience as fundamental in our lives, recognizing “our Being as the true center of our universe.”
